Payment (Monthly salary)
Depending on educational background and teaching experiences of the applicant as well as place of employment opportunity, a monthly salary averages 2.0-2.4 Million Won (Korean currency) is guaranteed. Teaching hours are 25-30 hours per week (Monday through Friday, 5 days a week). Overtime rate per hour is mostly 20,000 won.

Employment Contract
Contracts are usually concluded on an annual basis then most of them are for one year employment. An extension is possible upon mutual agreement between the employer and the instructor.
When extending the contract the salary is generally increased.

Airfare
Coming airfare from oversea to Korea will be paid to the teacher. The teacher will be entitled to receive return air ticket from the employer upon completing contract.

Severance Pay...
Severance pay is provided when the contract period of one year is successfully completed. In general, a month¡¯s salary is provided as the severance pay.

Housing (Accommodation)
Usually Teachers will live at furnished accommodation that is provided by the employer. Mostly it will be single studio apartment that is furnished with the basic furniture and electronic appliances required for usual daily living,(for example, containing Cooking wares, Bed and linen, Blanket, TV, Washing machine, refrigerator, air-conditioner, dining table, wardrobe, etc). Teacher will pay his/her utility cost. The location of the accommodation is usually within 5-15 minutes walking distance from the language institute.

Tax
Income tax of 3 to 5% is deducted monthly from the salary.

Working Environment
Most language institutes employ several native speakers so they are able to have good friendship helping each other. In Korea, Over 65,000 native English teachers are working at Language institutes or Public schools. Korean people are very friendly with them and Teachers enjoy teaching and explore Korean culture well. Many of English Institutes are located in or the vicinity of Seoul and Kyunggi-Do ( Incheon, Suwon, Pyeongchon/Anyang, Ilsan, Bundang¡¦), offering all the cultural and social benefits of a major Metropolitan environment. Of course, Teachers will have also an opportunity working at small or medium-size town throughout Korea as they want.

Medical Insurance
As for medical insurance, the entire amount of the monthly premiums, or at least half, is covered by the language institute. Since most Korean doctors speak English, there is little difficulty in seeking medical care in Korea. The standards of medical facilities in Korea are modern and efficient.

Holidays
Policy of paid holidays differs for each language institute, but in general, the instructor will be entitled to about ten days off every year.

Conditions for Applicants
All applicants (Native English speaker) should be qualified with the following requirements to get English teaching visa (E2 visa).
    - Should have a passport of either following English countries-USA, Canada, Australia, New       Zealand, UK, South African and Ireland
    - Should have at least Bachelor degree of University only in the above 7 countries. The major       field of study doesn¡¯t matter.

2. For the issue of Visa Confirmation by immigration office.
    From December 15th 2007 New teaching visa regulation is being activated.
    A. Original Bachelor Degree Certificate-It should be returned to applicant, or Graduation         Certificate verified with ¡°Apostille¡± by your government. For Canadian-Notarized one by
        Korean consular.
    B. Sealed official transcript-It should have seal or endorsement.
    C. Criminal Background Check verified with ¡°Apostille¡± by your government or For Canadian-
        Notarized one from Korean Consular-The useful one should be issued 3 months ago.
    D. Applicant¡¯s Health Statement (Drug/Alcohol, Mental/Neurotic/Emotional Disorder,
        Any infectious Diseases and HIV(AIDS), etc ).
    E. A Copy of passport.
    F. Resume.
    G. Signed employment contract.
    H. Two passport size photos
